Police have arrested a young man over a case filed against him under the Digital Security Act (DSA) in Atwari upazila of Panchagarh.
The arrestee was identified as Mostaq Ahmed, 20, son of Khondokar Abul Kashem from the upazila.
Atwari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ezar Uddin said: “Mostaq was arrested Tuesday night for making derogatory remarks about the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and thus tarnishing the image of the state on social media platforms.”
Emdadul Haque, organizational secretary of Atwari Upazila unit Awami League, had filed a case against the young man under the Digital Security Act (DSA), he added.
