A farmer was reportedly beaten to death by some unidentified miscreants in Jhorgaccha village in Tala upazila, Satkhira on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Dulal Chandra Ghosh, 50, son of Padmo Chandra Ghosh. Locals spotted the body in the morning and informed police.
Later police recovered the body, said Wahid Morshed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patkelghata police station.
"We primarily suspect Dulal might have been beaten to death as there were several injury marks on its head, face and throat." added the OC.
