A teacher was sued under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on the allegations of sexually harassing a seventh-grader schoolgirl in Brahmanbaria.
The accused Ashraful Alom is an assistant headmaster of Mogra High School in Akhaura upazila, said Akhaura police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rasul Ahmed Nizami.
He said: "The victim's mother lodged a complaint against Ashraful on Thursday night which turned into a lawsuit. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused."
According to the case statement, the seventh grader went to Ashraful to learn lessons on Thursday. At one point, finding the girl alone, the teacher sexually harassed her.
Meanwhile, Ashraful was suspended from his workplace on Friday after the school authorities primarily found the allegations against him to be true, said Noyab Miah, a member of Mogra High School Managing Committee.
However, the accused Ashraful Alom said he was a victim of conspiracy ,and a vested group implicated him in a false case.
