Mohsin Hossain Bablu, the editor and publisher of local newspaper Daily Ajker Potrika, died of Covid-19 symptoms at his residence in Rasulpur Mehedibag area of Satkhira town on Sunday night.
Mohsin, 58, had been suffering from fever and breathing problems for the last six to seven days.
GM Masuduzzaman, nephew of Mohsin, said his uncle was a patient with heart disease and diabetes. He had been receiving treatment from home at Atpukur in the town.
He suffered severe shortness of breathing around 1:00am and died before being taken to hospital, Masuduzzaman added.
Civil Surgeon Dr Hussaain Shafayat confirmed the news.
He left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
