The snake was released unharmed into the wilds of the Khadimnagar National Park
A 12-feet-long python weighing 25 kilograms was rescued in Malnichhara Tea Garden in Sylhet Sadar upazila on Wednesday.
Two nightguards first noticed the snake at the tea garden around 5am in the morning, coiled up around a small fox after devouring one whole just moments earlier. One of the nightguards was bitten when he tried to approach the snake.
At one point, a few workers in the tea garden managed to capture the snake and handed it over to a beat officer of the Sylhet Forest Department.
Chayonbrata Chowdhury, a beat officer of Sylhet Forest Department, said the snake was released unharmed into the wilds of the Khadimnagar National Park.
