The eye-catching beauty and green environment surrounding the beel attract tourists as much as the boat rides there
Travel enthusiasts have been enjoying the scenic beauty of Bamnail Beel (waterbody) in Jhenaidah as it gets particularly appealing during the monsoon when the quantity of water increases there.
Five-kilometre long and three-kilometre wide beel is surrounded by the Jessore, Jhenaidah and Magura districts. According to locals, it was named after the Bamnail village of Furshondi union in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.
The eye-catching beauty of the beel and the surrounding green environment attracts tourists as much as the boat rides there, promising an experience that lasts long in memory.
Shakil and Salam, two youths of Teghurihuda village in Kaliganj upazila said they had not known of such a beautiful place near their home and went to visit it after hearing about it from locals. "Anyone would be amazed by the beauty of this beel. Many are visiting it every day."
Expressing a similar sentiment, Mizanur Rahman said: "It's nice to visit a rather desolate tourist spot in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic . The spectacular beauty of the place and boat ride is the special attraction for tourists. Tourists from urban areas will particularly enjoy the rural environment of the spot."
“We feel good as tourists from Jessore and Jhenaidah town have been visiting our beel,” said Khalilur Rahman of Natopara village which is near the beel.
Sushen Shikdar, a member of Furshondi union, of the upazila said: "The view of the beel is being enjoyed by people for long. Tourists from Jhenaidah, Kaliganj and Jessore have been visiting the place. They are boarding trawlers and spending their time in the beel. We feel happy watching them enjoying themselves."
He further added that necessary security would be ensured for the tourist visiting.
