Police said the doctor had committed suicide
Family members of a deceased doctor in Melandah upazila hospital in Jamalpur has claimed that the doctor was murdered.
The claim has been made by the deceased doctor Sultana Parvin's father Alauddin Azad, a freedom fighter and a retired railway official, during a media briefing at Jamalpur Press Club on Friday night.
On August 16, police recovered the body of Dr Sultana Parvin from her room in the residential building of Melandah Upazila Health Complex. Her body was handed over to her family members after an autopsy.
Melandah police station OC Rejaul Karim Khan previously said police found ampoule of pathedrin beside her body, injecting which she may have committed suicide.
Freedom Fighter Alauddin, during the press briefing, said: "Dr Sultana Parvin's neck and face had injury marks. Her face was bloody. Her body had no clothes on. Her ex-husband Sabbir Hossain or her enemies in her occupation might have been involved in the murder."
"If the claim of suicide made by the hospital's health officer and police is true, then her body not suppose to had injury marks. My daughter did not commit suicide, " added Rejaul.
Dr Sultana's younger sister Mary Sultana and Mary's husband Asadul Haque were also present during the briefing.
