Two ready-made garments workers have reportedly been gang-raped by five men in Sreepur upazila, Gazipur.
The incident took place in an abandoned farm in Bidhai village of Sreepur upazila on Friday, confirmed Sreepur police station OC Sarwar Hossain.
Police on Sunday arrested four people in connection with a case filed over the alleged gang-rape of the garment workers, said the officer.
The arrestees Shahinul, 30, Kalam, 26, Jahangir, 30, and Babu, 19, all hailing from Sreepur upazila, were sent to Gazipur court at noon while another accused Moksedul has been absconding since the incident, according to police sources.
"The garment workers went to visit the village on the evening of Friday," said the OC of Sreepur police station.
According to the case statement, when the women reached near an abandoned farm in Bidhai village, the accused forcibly took them to two separate rooms of the farm and raped them.
Later on Sunday morning, one of the victims filed a rape case with the Sreepur police station.
