When the deceased Shakkhor was called over phone, he said: “I don’t know anyone called Shakkhor,” according to his family
Police recovered the body of a college student from a tea garden on Sunday a day after he went missing in Sreemangal upazila of Moulvibazar.
The deceased has been identified as Shakkhor Deb, a tenth grader and son of Kallyan Deb, headmaster of Sreemangal Bharaura Govt. Primary School.
The victim's family said Shakkhor took his father's motorcycle and went out around 4pm on Saturday. When Shakkhor was called over the phone, he answered saying: "I don't know anyone called Shakkhor," and hung up the call.
Later his family couldn't locate him and filed a general diary after which his body was found.
Sreemangal police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Suhel Rana said police initially couldn’t tell if the incident is a murder as the body had no injury marks. The police also discovered sleeping pills beside his body.
The body has been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death, OC Suhel added.
