Police have recovered the decapitated body of an unidentified woman, aged around 25, from the septic tank of an expatriate's house in Konabari (Dewaliabari) area of Gazipur City Corporation.
The body was recovered from the septic tank of resident Anwar Hossain's house in the area on Sunday morning.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Konabari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Imtiaz Ahmed confirmed the recovery of the body.
He said that a stench emanating from the septic tank prompted locals to inform the family members of expatriate Anwar Hossain about it.
When the family members opened the tank, they found a sack inside and immediately informed the police.
Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the sack and found the decapitated body of the woman inside it.
The identity of the woman remains unconfirmed.
