Jubo League leader killed in Bandarban

A Bangladesh Awami Jubo League leader from Bandarban Sadar upazila has been killed in an armed attack by some unidentified miscreants.

The incident took place in Baghmara area of Rajbila union at around 7pm on Tuesday.

The deceased, Mong Cho U Marma, 42, was an organizational secretary of Jubo League's local unit.

He was a former member of Parbattya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti's (PCJSS) Bandarban unit.

He joined Jubo League two years ago and his sources close to his family claimed he had been receiving death threats from PCJSS since then.

Local sources said a group of six to seven unidentified men attacked Mong Cho and killed him.

Confirming the incident, Sadar police station OC Shahidul Islam said: “We were informed about the incident by locals and sent a police team to recover the dead body.”
