Man hacked to death in Gazipur

The deceased identified as Sheikh Farhadul Islam Ratan

A man was hacked to death by some unknown miscreants at Baruda in Gazipur city early Saturday.

The deceased identified as Sheikh Farhadul Islam Ratan,45, was the son of Shahbuddin from the city’s Laghalia area.

Confirming the matter, Bashir Ahmed, Sub Inspector of Sadar police station under the Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), said that Ratan would work as a caretaker for the house and shop of Kazi Shahabuddin in the city’s Chhayabithi area.

When he was returning from his workplace early Saturday, some miscreants beat and hacked her with sharp weapons indiscriminately at Baruda area, said SI Bashir. 

Critically injured Ratan was taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment at around 7:30am, the police official added.

Meanwhile, police recovered the hanging body of a young man from the Konabari area of the city on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Raju Ahmmed, 22, son of Kanchan Khan, hailing from Banaripara of Barisal.

Azibor Rahman, sub-inspector of Konabari police station, said that locals spotted Raju's body hanging from the beam of the balcony of Raju's house and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue.
