As many as five individuals including a police official have been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in a case lodged over a robbery.

The convicts are, Sub-Inspector Mosaddek Hossain Khan, Monirul Islam, Sazzad Hossain, Lutfur Rahman Khan, and Liton Hawlader.
The court acquitted Alam Khan and Samuyel Baidya.
According to the case documents, JK Sales and Company Manager Main Uddin on February 14, 2011, was going to the Banani branch of South East Bank to deposit Tk18 lakh of the company.
The convicts abducted Main, snatched the money, and left him in the Matikata area of Bhashantake.
Main later filed the case with the Khilkhet police station and police recovered Tk12 lakh from the convicts and seized the microbus used in the abduction.
Police on May 30, 2011, filed the charge-sheet against seven and the court on different occasions examined 16 prosecution witnesses.
