Moslem was a death row convict for war crimes and had been in jail since 2017
A death row convict for war crimes died at Kashimpur High Security Jail in Gazipur on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Moslem Prodhan, 68, son of late Labu Sheikh from Kamarhati village in Nikli upazila of Kishoreganj district, said Abu Sayem, jailer at Kashimpur Central Jail-2.
He said: “Moslem Prodhan was given primary treatment inside the jail after he was having chest pain. Later on Moslem was taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College and Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.”
Moslem was a death row convict for war crimes and had been in jail since 2017, jailer Abu Sayem added.
Contacted, Mojahidul Islam, doctor at Shaheed Tazuddin Ahmad Medical College and Hospital, said: “Death row convict Moslem Prodhan was dead when brought here.”
