5 killed in Bhola, Satkhira road accidents

At least 5 people including a child were killed in separate road accidents in Bhola and Satkhira on Tuesday.

In Satkhira, at least two people were killed in a head on collision between a motorcycle and a trolley on Satkhira-Jessore Highway in the town’s Madhobkati Bazar at around 10am.

The deceased were identified as Rakibur Rahman,24, son of Mofabbar Rahman from Boddipur Colony and Mokhlesur Rahman, 28, son of Amzed Ali, from Minjitpur area of Satkhira town.

Satkhira Sadar police station Sub-Inspector Mostafizar Rahman, said a soil-laden trolley collided head on with a Jessore-bound motorcycle, killing two motorcycle passengers on the spot.

The dead bodies were sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital for autopsy and the trolley was seized, said Satkhira Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asaduzzaman.

In Bhola, an elderly person named Kabir Hossain, 65, died after being run over by a bus at Bangla Bazar area and a child named Lamia, 8, was killed by an autorickshaw while crossing the road at Saidpur area in Daulatkhan upazila in the morning.

Daulatkhan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bazlar Rahman confirmed the matter.

Meanwhile, another person named Dilarullah,40, was killed in a collision between an oil tanker and an auto borak at Kaimuddin area in Charfasson upazila.

Confirming the matter, Charfasson police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Monirul Islam said five people were injured in the accident. They were admitted to Charfassion upazila Health Complex.
