Huge quantity of extremist propaganda-based books, leaflets and promotional brochures were recovered from him
Members of Rapid Action Battalion-11 have reportedly arrested an active member of the banned militant outfit 'Ansar Al Islam' from Narayanganj.
The arrestee, Md Mahbubur Rahman, 39, is a wanted terrorist and has been working as recruitment organiser in the banned outfit, as confirmed by RAB.
“We carried out a drive at his rented house in Ashulia on Tuesday and arrested him with a huge quantity of extremist propaganda-based books, leaflets and promotional brochures,” said Md Suminur Rahman, senior assistant director of RAB-11.
Mahbubur confessed to promoting extremist propaganda through different social media platforms, such as Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp, etc, and recruiting young people by meeting them in person afterwards.
Legal action would be taken against him, added the officer.
