Man arrested for making derogatory remarks about PM

Police on Wednesday arrested a man for reportedly making derogatory comments about the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook.

The arrested has been identified as Md Ariful Islam, 23, of Palashkura village of Jamalpur Sadar upazila.

Jamalpur Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Salemuzzaman said, being informed of Arif’s act, police conducted a drive in his home and detained him.

"He worked at a private company after finishing his studies from a madrasa. A case has been filed in connection with the incident at Jamalpur Sadar police station," added OC Md Salemuzzaman.
