Protestors demand the resignation of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal for failing to prevent rapes across the country
Anti-rape protests resumed at Shahbagh for the fifth consecutive day on Friday over the recent spike in rape and violence against women in Bangladesh.
A small group of left wing student activists along with general students began converging before the National Museum at Shahbagh at around 3:30pm on Friday.

Meanwhile, several Islamic parties staged a demonstration against the continuing rape incidents at Baitul Mukarram Mosque after Jummah prayers.
Alongside protests on the streets, netizens, especially women, resorted to digital protests through using different social media platforms to raise their voices against rape, sexual assaults, harassment and torture of women.

The incident occurred at Joykrishnapur village under Ekhlaspur union of the upazila on September 2.
