The rape survivor was sent to the One-stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for medical tests
An 11-year old student was allegedly raped by a Madrasa teacher at Banshkhali upazila in Chittagong district.
The girl’s mother lodged a case with Banshkhali police station in this connection on Monday evening.
The accused teacher identified as Mozammel Haque, 55, has remained absconding since the incident.
The rape survivor was sent to the One-stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for medical tests.
Rezaul Karim Majumder, Officer-in-Charge of Banshkhali police station said that the Madrasa teacher used to teach the girl Arabic at Chambal Forkania Madrasa under Chambal Union of Banshkhali upazila.
“The teacher allegedly raped the girl on several occasions in the last one month after morning classes. He also threatened the girl not to disclose the matter to anyone," said the OC.
“On Monday, the girl disclosed the matter to her mother. The Madrasa teacher went into hiding after the incident was disclosed. Drives are under to apprehend him,” added the OC.
