A worker was killed in a landslide while he was reportedly cutting a hill in Sadar upazila of Cox's Bazar early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Rahmat Ullah, 24, son of Md Altaz of Tetaiya village in Khurushkul union, confirmed Jasim Uddin, chairman of Khurushkul Union Parishad.
He said Rahmat died when a big chunk of earth collapsed on him while he was cutting a hill at Tetaiya village in the dead of night.
Despite repeated attempts, our correspondent could not reach Cox's Bazar Sadar police station for a quote on the matter.
