A mobile court sentenced him to six months of imprisonment

A woman has handed over her drug addict son to police in Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur while a mobile court sentenced him to six months of imprisonment. 

The incident took place at Binoderchar village around 5:30pm on Saturday.

Monwara Begum, mother of the convict Anwar Hossain, 22, said her son had been torturing and creating pressure on family members for money to purchase drugs.

Since Saturday morning, he was demanding money from her and started vandalizing furniture in the house.

Finding no other way, she caught her son with the help of local people.

Being informed, Bakshiganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Munmun Zahan Liza went to the spot with police personnel and set up the mobile court to conduct trial, said Bakshiganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam Samrat.
