The new services styled ‘CMP Bondhon’ will be launched from the first day of 2021
As part of bringing services to the doorstep of people, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has undertaken an initiative to launch an SMS-based information services through its own software at the 16 police stations in the city.
The new services styled ‘CMP Bondhon’ will be launched from the first day of 2021.
Usually, a plaintiff has to visit the police station on many occasions after filing a General Diary (GD) or a case.
In most cases, the plaintiff has to wait for a long time to know the name and the contact number of the Investigating Officer (IO) of the case or GD.
To ease the hassle, SMS-based information services are going to be introduced at the 16 police stations of the city.
With the launching of the services, the case or GD number, name and contact number of the IO and other necessary pieces of information will be automatically sent to the mobile phone of the plaintiff upon recording the GD or the case.
In case of any change of the IO, the new name and contact number of the IO will be sent automatically to the mobile phone of the plaintiff.
Besides, the plaintiff will be notified about the latest status of the GD or case e.g., charge-sheet pr final report number, dates and the clauses of the law.
The free-of-cost services will establish the plaintiff’s rights to know about the cases. Above all, the services will act as a bridge between the plaintiff and the IO which will ensure transparency and accountability in the investigation of the cases.
