Savar municipality Returning Officer Munir Hossain Khan on Wednesday asked local journalists to avoid writing all kinds of negative news regarding upcoming Savar municipality elections.
"The whole situation of the election could be changed due to any single negative news. It will become difficult to us to take the situation under control if such an incident happens. So, don't write negative news," said Md Munir Hossain Khan, also Dhaka District Senior Election officer.
"You (journalists) will have to think about everything positively, even there is any negative. Inform me if you found any negative things, I will look into the issue", said the returning officer.
"If I could not take any step about any negative thing, you (journalists) will publish the news," Munir Hossain said.

Savar municipality polls will be held on next January 16. Three candidates will participate in the mayoral race.
