Police have arrested a youth for allegedly raping a madrasa student keeping her confined after abduction in Bishwanath upazila of Sylhet.
The arrested is Md Amin, 22, a resident of Gomragul village in the upazila.
Police apprehended Amin from his house and rescued the girl around 4am on Thursday following a case filed by the rape survivor's father on Wednesday, said Bishwanath police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamim Musa.

The girl, an eighth grader of a madrasa, located in Sadar upazila, was sent to the One-stop Crisis Centre of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital, he said.
Amin was produced before a court in Sylhet which sent him to jail, the OC added.
According to the case statement, Amin, who developed a romantic relationship with the teenage girl, abducted her by a CNG-run autorickshaw around 9pm on January 31 when she was trying to lock the cowshed at her house.
The girl's father informed the police about the matter the next day and lodged a case with Bishwanath police station on Wednesday under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Later, a team led by Sub-Inspector Sanjay Lal Deb raided Amin's house, detained him, and rescued the girl.
