Police have recovered the bodies and sent those to Habiganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy
Two suspected robbers have been killed in a mob lynching in Lakhai upazila of Habiganj.
The incident took place at Gunipur village early Sunday.
The deceased are -- Abdul Hamid, 45, of Dharmandal village in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria, and Humayun Mia, 30, of Puraitola village in Madhabpur upazila in Habiganj.
Locals said a gang of five robbers entered a house of one Jalal Mia of Gunipur village to commit a robbery.
Sensing their presence, residents of the house started shouting seeking help from other villagers.
Hearing their scream, local people congregated and chased the robbers.
They caught Hamid and Humayun and gave them severe beatings, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
Lakhai police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sayedul Islam told Dhaka Tribune that police recovered the bodies and sent those to Habiganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
