Quader: Infrastructure work to continue amid lockdown

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said infrastructure construction works will remain out of the purview of the seven-day compete lockdown.

“The roads and highways will remain free due to the restrictions on plying public transports during the lockdown beginning on April 14. In this time, the damaged roads will have to be repaired to make those suitable for traffic,” he said.

Quader, also the Awami League general secretary, said this while speaking at a view-exchange meeting with the engineers of the Roads and Highways Department through videoconferencing from his official residence.

He instructed everyone concerned to conduct road repair works following health guidelines and wearing masks.
