BGB said the seized yaba pills will be destroyed soon after completing all necessary legal procedures
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in the early hours of Thursday seized 400,000 yaba pills worth about Tk12 crore from Leda Khal area under its Leda BOP in Teknaf upazila of the district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Teknaf BGB Battalion 2 seized the four abandoned sacks containing 400,000 yaba tablets at the backside of Leda Khal embankment at about 4:30am, a BGB spokesman told BSS Thursday afternoon.
“However, we could not detain anyone as the drug peddlers managed to flee the scene, leaving this huge consignment of the contraband pills on the spot,” he added.
BGB said the seized items will be soon destroyed in the presence of senior officials, representatives of the Department of Narcotics Control, public representatives, and media personnel after completing necessary legal procedures.
