Police have arrested a man in Bishwanath upazila of Sylhet for defaming Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on social media.
The arrested is Anhar Ali, 30, a resident of Purbo Dashghar in the upazila.
The law enforcers apprehended Anhar from his business institution located at Pirerbazar on Wednesday.
Sadar union unit Bangladesh Awami Jubo League Convener Monohor Hossain Munna filed a case under the Digital Security Act (DSA) in this regard on Thursday.

According to the case document, Anhar uploaded an objectionable video of the two prime ministers on his Facebook account after distorting their images by using Photoshop software.
After watching the satirical video, dissatisfaction arose among the local leaders and workers of Awami League and its affiliated organizations.
It also created chaos in the area, the case statement added.
Bishwanath police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamim Musa said they are investigating the matter.
