Four accused have been handed over to the Narcotics Control Department
Members of Aviation Security (AVSEC) recovered around 2,355 yaba tablets during a security screening at the export cargo of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Wednesday early morning.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, an AVSEC member said: "The yaba tablets were found inside a courier bag bound for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.”
However, HSIA Executive Director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan said AVSEC official Sultan Mahmud detected a yaba tablet during the scanning of post office goods at Hangar Gate No 8 at 7:20am today.
Later, he informed the concerned officials, said the airport director.
On receiving the information, an AVSEC team rushed to the spot and seized 2,355 yaba tablets and arrested four employees of the post office.
After recovering contraband pills, the four accused were handed over to the Narcotics Control Department, said Touhid-ul Ahsan.
