Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman passed the order on Sunday
A Dhaka court on Sunday placed finance secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam’s recently dissolved committee Monir Hossain Qashemi on three-day fresh remand in a case lodged over the group’s anarchy in Dhaka’s Baitul Mukarram area in March.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman passed the order after holding a hearing on the matter.
Earlier, police produced the accused before the court after the end of his three-day remand in a case lodged over Hefajat’s 2013 anarchy in the capital and pleaded to keep him behind the bars in the case.
Qashemi was remanded in the case on May 26.
He was arrested from the capital’s Baridhara area by DB men on May 21.
