The former ODI skipper is the lawmaker of Narail 2
Former Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been made a member of the ruling Awami League’s district committee in his native Narail.
On Sunday, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader approved the committee for the southwestern district.
Mashrafe now represents the Narail-2 constituency in parliament after defeating his rivals by a massive margin in the 11th National Election in 2018.
After taking oath as member of parliament, he told the media that he was keen to replicate his cricketing success in politics.
The strapping pacer, who was known as the "Narail Express", said then that he would work for the welfare of the people as a public representative.
