A notice issued by the deputy commissioner warns of strict measures for breaching the curbs
The authorities have declared a complete shutdown in some areas under Mymensingh City Corporation for seven days with effect from Friday morning till July 1 midnight.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque issued the order on Thursday night, and asked all to follow social distancing and other health guidelines as per the rules to avoid legal action.
The notice says all types of regular activities and public movement will be ceased in Maskanda bus stand, Chorpara, Noyapara, Krishtopur, Alia Madrasa area, Noumohol, RK Mission Road, Boundary Road, Patgudam, Kachijhuli and Ganginarpar areas considering the Covid-19 situation.

But the people engaged in emergency services, the press and the law enforcers; transports carrying them and the emergency supplies; and the kitchen markets will remain out of the purview of the ban.
The decision came in the wake of surge in Covid-19 cases and deaths across the country when 81 fatalities were recorded in the 24hrs till Thursday morning.
Of the deceased, three died in Mymensingh division till Thursday, taking the death toll to 292 since last year.
According to meeting sources, the restrictions were imposed in some parts of the city due to the recent spike in Covid cases. The authorities may take stricter decision, if needed, after observing the results for a week.
