Man arrested for raping 7-year-old in Habiganj

Police have arrested a man for raping a seven-year-old girl at Noapara Tea Garden in Madhabpur upazila, Habiganj.

The accused was identified as Shohail, 30.

According to police, a working couple from Noapara Tea Garden went to work on Saturday, leaving their daughter home alone.

After a while, Sohail, who works at the same tea garden, entered the house offering the girl soft drinks and then raped her.

Later, the girl informed her parents of the incident as they returned home after work. Her father filed a case with Madhabpur police on Tuesday, confirmed Inspector Aminul Islam.

Acting immediately, police raided the tea garden and arrested the accused in the night. On Wednesday, he was produced before a court, which sent him to jail.
