Several days ago, RAB had arrested three more with Tk1 crore worth crystal meth in the port city
Police arrested three people with 80 grams of crystal meth and 5,000 yaba pills from Bijghata area of Chittagong city on Wednesday evening.
The crystal meth seized from them is worth about Tk8 lakh, Chittagong Metropolitan Police’s Detective Division (North) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Salam Kabir told a press conference on Thursday morning.
He said the trio – identified as Md Jalal Ahmed, 43, Md Farooq, 30, and Md Talal, 35 – was detained from in front of a residential hotel in that area which falls under Kotwali police station.

DC Kabir said the drive was carried out around 6:15pm Wednesday. The crystal meth was found on Jalal and the yaba pills on Farooq and Talal.
He said Farooq and Talal had received the yaba consignment from an yet to be identified person from an area under the Anwara police station.
A case was later filed against the trio at Kotwali police station, added the DC.
The latest crystal meth seizure comes just two days after Rapid Action Battalion detained three more drug dealers along with another bath of the highly stimulant contraband drug, also known as “ice”.

They were held with 975 grams of crystal meth, which has a street value of around Tk1 crore, from Patharghata area under the Kotwali police station on Monday.
