Two suspected criminals were killed in a “gunfight” with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Mymensingh’s Gafargaon upazila early yesterday.
Members of the elite force seized firearms and yaba pills from the spot following the incident, reports Bangla Tribune.
According to RAB, the deceased – who are yet to be identified – were members of a robbery gang.

Acting on a tip-off, RAB members conducted a drive in the upazila’s Baroil village. At one point, they came across a gang of robbers who were preparing for a robbery, RAB claimed.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire at the patrol team. The gang fled the scene when RAB members retaliated.
They recovered the two people with injuries and took them to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor pronounced them dead.
Two RAB members were also injured in the drive, RAB claimed.
