The Covid-19 situation is worsening in the Mymensingh district by the day.
Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) on Monday recorded 23 new Covid-related deaths in the past 24 hours, the highest single-day toll at the hospital.
Of them, nine had tested positive for Covid-19, while the remaining showed symptoms of the virus, said said Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, a spokesperson of the Covid unit.

Of the deceased –15 men and 10 women, 15 people hailed from Mymensingh district, four from Netrokona, and two each from Tangail and Gazipur.
Meanwhile, 456 patients are still undergoing treatment in the hospital, of whom 19 are in the intensive care unit, said the officials.
As many as 1,263 samples were screened at the hospital’s PCR lab during the same time, when 370 new cases were identified, said Civil Surgeon Mohammad Nazrul Islam.
