As many as 31 people died of the coronavirus in Barisal division between Sunday and Monday mornings, taking the division's total number of deaths to 487.
During the same time, 798 new infections were reported, taking the total caseload in the six districts to 34,627, said divisional health director Dr Basudeb Kumar Das.
The Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital logged 23 deaths. Of them, 18 died with symptoms while the rest had tested positive for Covid-19, said Dr Das.
Eight deaths were reported from the other districts, he added.
