Four firearms found at the scene of the shootout, says the RAB
A suspected Rohingya robber has been killed in a reported gunfight with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.
The incident took place on a hill near the Damdomia area in Hnila union early on Thursday, accroding to the elite police unit.
The victim 40-year-old Nurul Alam used to lead a robber's gang 'Nuru Bahini', according to Lt Commander Mahbub of Teknaf-based RAB-15.

“Acting on a tip-off, we raided the Damdomia area early Thursday. We had intel that a group of Rohingyas was preparing for a robbery.
“At one point, sensing our presence, the robbers opened fire at us. The gang fled the scene when we retaliated,” the RAB official added.
After the shootout ended, Dacoit Nurul was found wounded at the spot, according to the senior RAB officer.

He was taken to the Teknaf Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
“Two of our men were injured in the gunfight. The body of the deceased has been sent to the Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“A case has already been filed with Teknaf police station in this regard,” Lt Commander Mahbub added.
RAB said it found four firearms from the scene of the shootout.
