Covid-19: Barisal division logs 8 new deaths in 24 hours

The deadly disease has so far killed 600 people in the division

Barisal division logged eight more Covid-19-related deaths in the past 24 hours till Monday morning.

Of the deceased, health officials said, five were confirmed Covid-19 patients while the other three were symptomatic.

SBMCH sources said three patients with symptoms have passed away in the hospital’s isolation ward and two confirmed patients in the corona ward. Meanwhile, three others passed away from different parts of the district.

The division’s death toll now stands at 600, said the divisional health director Dr Basudeb Kumar Das.

With the latest tallies, the division’s total caseload stands at 41,342.

At least 880 people were reported to have made full recovery from Covid-19, raising the total number of recoveries in the division to 25,146.

So far,  917 patients with symptoms have passed away in the hospital’s isolation ward and 363 confirmed patients in the corona ward.

Of the 917 patients who passed away with symptoms, the reports of 62 patients have not been found.

In the past 24 hours till Monday morning, nine new patients have been admitted in the hospital’s Covid isolation ward and 12 others in Covid ward. 

With the latest addition, 156 Covid patients are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. Of them, 51 are in the corona ward and 105 others are in the isolation ward.

At the rt-PCR lab of SBMCH, 189 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, where 46.56% samples tested positive for Covid-19.
