The girl was admitted to Bangabandhu Medical College Hospital’s One-Stop Crisis Centre in critical condition
Police on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in Faridpur’s Madhukhali upazila.
The arrestee, Md Sagar, 23 is a local street-food vendor, confirmed Madhukhali police station OC Shahidul Islam.
According to the police complaint, Sagar lured the girl and her sister back to his house after finding them playing on the road on Wednesday morning.
He then distracted the girl’s sister by putting on cartoons on his phone while he took her to his room and raped her there.
Hearing the girls’ screams, locals rescued her to the Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex.
As her condition worsened, she was admitted to the Bangabandhu Medical College Hospital’s One-Stop Crisis Centre.
Meanwhile, police arrested Sagar after the girl’s father filed a case with Madhukhali police on Thursday morning.
