The death toll from the trawler capsize rose to 22 on Saturday
A newly-wed woman has drowned during a trawler capsize in Laiska Beel of Brahmanbaria on Friday
The deceased was identified as Sharmin Akhter Suma, 23, only daughter of the late Jaru Mia of Bhatpara village in the district.
She got married to Zahirul Islam, from Champaknagar village of Vijayanagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria, just a week before.
Suma was coming to her father's house in Bhatpara village along with her husband and brother-in-law, when the tragedy occurred. Her husband Zahirul and his brother survived the accident.

The collision happened between a 100-passenger carrying engine-driven boat and a sand-loaded trawler coming from the opposite direction at Laiska Beel in Pattan union of Vijayanagar upazila around 5:30pm on Friday.
On Saturday, her family in Bhatpara village mourned her untimely death.
The death toll from Friday’s trawler-capsize in Laiska Beel of Brahmanbaria rose to 22 with the recovery of another victim’s body on Saturday morning.

According to other media reports, police have so far arrested five people in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, operations of all river vessels from Champaknagar Ghat have remained suspended following the accident.
A three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the incident and submit a report within 10 days.
Subsequently, 21 bodies were recovered, 15 more people were rescued and sent to the upazila health complex and 50 others managed to swim back to shore.
