A woman was allegedly raped in her residence by a man who was posing as a potential subtenant for her rented flat in Fatullah upazila of Narayanganj.
The accused Md Mohsin, 26, is the son of late Fazal Haque of Gobkhali village in South Chandrakhali of Patuakhali.
The incident took place in the Talla area under the Fatullah model police station on Thursday morning.
Three days after incident, the woman filed a case with the Fatullah police station on Sunday night.
According to the case statement, the woman first met the accused at Narayanganj court a few months ago.
After getting acquainted with her, Mohsin expressed his desire to find a flat for his family.
It is then, the woman offered to sublet her flat to him. After Mohsin agreed to her proposal, he went to see her flat on Thursday at 11am.
At that time, finding the woman alone in the flat, Mohsin raped her at knifepoint.
Confirming the incident, Fatullah model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rakibuzzaman said they registered the rape case after conducting a preliminary investigation.
“We are trying to arrest the accused Mohsin,” he added.
