The body has been sent to the Faridpur morgue for an autopsy
The body of a seven-year-old child was found hanging from the ceiling at his home in Saltha, Faridpur on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Md Junaid Fakir. He was a student of grade 2 and the youngest son of Qurban Fakir from Kaulikanda upazila.
Qurban Fakir has been living in Malaysia for the last 7 years.
Family sources said Junaid’s mother had asked him to study in the morning as he would be taking an exam at school the next day. When he was done, around 10am, his mother asked him to go out to play.
Junaid’s older brother Yar Mahmud said: "I entered the house around 11am and saw Junaid’s lifeless body hanging from the ceiling. Hearing my screams, my mother rushed in as well. Later, we managed to get his body down with the help of curious locals who had heard the commotion."

Tachiran Begum, Junaid’s grandmother, said the seven-year-old was often bad-tempered and moody. From time to time, he would hide alone under the bed or on the roof, only to emerge later.
Nilufa Begum, Junaid's aunt, said he put a lot of pressure on his family to get his circumcision done about a year ago, and he even attempted to do so by himself with a knife. He also asked his family to slaughter a cow for the occasion.
Saltha Upazila Parishad Chairman Md Wadud Matubbar rushed to the spot upon receiving the news of the tragic suicideoffered his condolences to the family .
Saltha police station OC Asikuzzaman said the body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.
