Primary investigation points to a murder, say police
Police recovered a semi-decomposed body of a young man from an electric pole at Ruposhi Hill under the Jalalabad Jamir Housing area in Chittagong on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Khokon, 30.
According to local sources, Khokon used to trade in bricks and sand in the Jalalabad Jamir housing area and was involved in politics under the BNP. Meanwhile, his younger brother, Md Babu, is involved in politics under a local influential Awami League leader.
Khulshi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shaheduzzaman confirmed the matter.
He said the body was recovered from an electric pole on Ruposhi Hill in Jalalabad Jamir housing area. Injury marks were found on the body which was half-decomposed already. “We also found the clothes on his mouth. However, primary investigation points to murder.”
Details will be known after an autopsy and investigation, he added.
