Comilla man’s throat slit in attempted murder incident

Some miscreants tried to kill a man by slitting his throat in Chandina upazila of Comilla early on Tuesday.

Severely injured Solaiman, 40, is currently undergoing treatment at Comilla Medical College Hospital.

Earlier on October 1, Solaiman’s daughter Salma Akter, 14, was picked up from their house and killed in a similar manner. Solaiman had filed a murder case in this connection against 10 named and three unnamed people.

Saying that police have yet to make an arrest in the murder case, Solaiman’s son Yusuf complained that police are just stalling in the name of investigation.

“There is no security in our lives,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chandina police station OC said the matter is being looked into with utmost importance.

“The accused in the Salma murder case are on the run, drives to apprehend them are still ongoing,” he added.
