The former president has been suffering from various ailments for last nine months
The condition of Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, who is undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), has improved.
"Doctors said his condition has improved 25% in the last 24 hours, but he is not out of danger yet," party's acting Chairman GM Quader said at a meeting with the party leaders of Barisal and Khulna divisions in Dhaka on Thursday.
Ershad was admitted to the CMH on Wednesday morning. He has been suffering from various ailments for the last nine months and received treatment from aboard at different times, reports UNB.
"Doctors said he's still not out of danger," Quader, the younger brother of Ershad, said, adding: "It'll take some time for him to recover."
Due to his poor health, Ershad on April 6 reinstated Quader as party chairman in his absence and a day later, he donated his assets to a trust.
Ershad was elected Member of Parliament from Rangpur 3 in the 11th general election, and he is currently the leader of opposition party in the parliament.
