Shwapno stands beside woman rickshaw puller

Retail brand shop Shwapno has appointed Baby Akter, a woman rickshaw puller, as their delivery person in Dhaka's Mirpur 11.

Baby, who is from Bikrampur, Mushiganj, was given the job at a program in Shwapno’s Tejgaon office on Wednesday, according to a press release.

Baby had started driving a rickshaw to provide for her family about one-and-a-half year ago, in the face of financial hardship.

From now on, she will use her rickshaw to deliver Shwapno’s products to their customers’ doorsteps in Mirpur 11 area, said the press release.

Shwapno Executive Director Sabbir Hasan Nasir decided to help Baby after watching a video on her that went viral in social media recently.

Shwapno Business Director Sohel Tanvir khan, Head of Human Resources Shah Mohammad Rizvi Roni, and Public Relations Manager Kamruzzaman Milu were also present at Wednesday's event.
