Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader believes BNP have become proponents of communal extremism and militancy as their movement has "failed".
The Roads, Transport and Bridges Minister made his comments while inspecting part of the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Shahbazpur on Tuesday afternoon.
BNP are are realising that they will not get the public’s votes to win in the upcoming general election," Obaidul said. "As such, they have resorted to supporting communal extremism (and) when militants die, BNP considers them as good people".

"People are praising the police for their action against those who are involved in communal terrorism, whereas BNP are annoyed by this. This is because they are providing support to militancy," the minister said.
