BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that members of the government's law enforcement agencies picked Farhad Mazhar, a noted litterateur and columnist.
He made the statement on Monday afternoon at a press briefing at the party central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka.

“As the government is scared of his (Farhad) write-ups, it targeted him,” he said.
Rizvi also compared the incident with Ilias Ali and other BNP leaders and activists who have been subjected to enforced disappearance.
He demanded that the government take every possible step to rescue Mazhar within the shortest possible time.
