Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad, an association of pro-Awami League lawyers, are going to hold rallies across the country on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday in protest of the Supreme Court verdict on the 16th Amendment.
During the protest, they will demand that the objectionable and irrelevant observations in the verdict be expunged.
The decision came from a press briefing organised by the association at its Dhanmondi office in Dhaka on Saturday morning, reports UNB.
On August 1, the Supreme Court released the full text of its verdict upholding the High Court rule that declared the 16th Amendment to the constitution illegal, taking away parliament's authority to impeach Supreme Court judges and reinstating the Supreme Judicial Council.
